My baby turns 5 on Sunday. This birthday is the hardest for me because I remember when I turned 5.

Finding out I was having a girl was one of the best days of my life. I thought that I wanted to have 6 boys. After having the two, it was time to switch it up. And now I only have three babies altogether. :(

The memories I have most about Savanna is always having her named picked out. Remember the movie Savanna Smiles? I thought it was such a beautiful name. Savanna Christi it would be.

The first night I brought Savanna home from the hospital Wyatt was a nervous wreck. He kept checking on her and said he should probably just hold her all night long. The boys were so excited to have a new toy to touch. Wyatt said he would trade all his toys in the world if I would have a hundred more babies.

Savanna hardly cried. Loved her bassinet and crib. She would wake up and play with her feet until I came in and got her. Hated fruit baby food; only liked the veggies. Her hair grew in like grass; straight up until it weighed enough to force itself down.

When she started crawling I could find her in my closet pulling clothes down. She loved to put clothes on her head and crawl around. She would stop and pull it off her head, hold it out to look at it and then put it back on her head. Her first word was cookie but she said it "cooka".

Now I can have a conversation with her and we talked about lots of things. I love hearing her thought process. She has a problem with using pronouns and I still don't want to fix it. For example she will say, "Me go with you mom?" or "her said I couldn't." Its just too cute.

Savanna is super shy. She prefers women over men, unless the men have softer voices and don't demand anything from her. The best way to get her liking you is to ask a couple of questions about Justin Bieber and then sit back. Its amazing how many boys she has crushes on. She likes the older ones; it seems we both find one in particular very cute. She met him a couple of weeks ago at my best friends parents house.

favorite food: vanilla frosted donuts, pancakes, chocolate milk, cheese burgers, candy corn, poppy seed muffins and ribs.

favorite show: maggie and the ferocious beast, iCarly, max and ruby and american idol

favorite song: katy perry's 'teenage dream', justin bieber's 'baby', ke$sha, fergie

scared of: E.T., my best friends husband (sorry David), sharks

loves: her pink blankie, falling asleep with our foreheads touching, animals, her best friend/cousin Lilly

needs improvement: worst morning breath ever, distinguishing the difference between lying and "just kidding", sharing all her toys that happen to be "really special" that no one else can touch, brushing her hair

talents: picking out great outfits, painting her own fingernails, tap/ballet, writing her full name, getting people to do whatever she wants

love going to the zoo....except our favorite monkeys are getting a new home and cant be seen until april.

being at the zoo prompted thoughts of what pet could wyatt get next?! i explained how he already has tons of pets to take care of. somehow after the zoo we stopped and bought hamsters.

we talked about how animals carry diseases and how we always need to wash our hands.

wyatt said, "what if we hold them and then pick our nose or something."

i told him everything about that scenario was not good.

savanna said, "ya wyatt. we should wash our hands before we pick our nose."

I thought February went by fast but I am amazed that March is almost over. Spring break is still going strong but with the boys gone the first week I still have patience. They had a great time with grandma and cousins in the mountains.
The first week was heavenly for me. For many different reasons. I got to spend time with people that I haven't seen in a while that mean the world to me.
Hunter's baseball team won their first tournament. Hunter scored the winning run for the semi-final game. He had a great hit to get him to first base. Then he stole second, third and home. I was so excited! He is the newest on the team so he doesn't get tons of playing time. He is just the sweetest boy.
This second week has flown by and now I have two good friends coming into town to visit me. Planning on pedicures, shopping, movies and frozen yogurt.

I am always amazed when someone carves or writes their name on a place that they shouldn't. And then denies ever doing it. Growing up my brother carved his name into his bunk bed, my niece wrote her name in permanent marker on her bed sheet and now savanna wrote her name on the arm rest of the car.
I was prepared for savanna to lie to me about the writing in the car so I had my camera ready. Although it isn't all of her name, it certainly has some of the letters and plus look at that face. That is the face of a pretty little liar.

Arizona's birthday was a few weeks ago, so the 4th grade put on a performance with songs depicting AZ. Hunter informed me that he wasn't going to be dressing up in anything that has to do with cowboys, indians or the like. I agreed that that would be lame.
To my surprise he had on a straw hat. I could tell by the look on his face it wasn't by his choosing. I had so much fun watching him do all the choreography. He was completely embarrassed and now I know why he wanted to be absent that day. Oh no! These are my favorite days; I love seeing my kids forced to sing on stage. Cant wait until its Wyatt's turn. He does the cutest, "trying not to smile face" and Savanna somehow adds dance moves into anything she sings.

Speaking of Wyatt, I was tucking him into his bed (for the 20 minutes he actually stays there) and he had a airsoft pistol laying right next to him. He said he likes to sleep with it; it makes him feel safe. So funny because it is broken with no bullets, and so sad that he gets scared.

I remember being scared at that age too. Except my mom wouldn't let me get into her bed. I had to suffer the night with 20 stuffed animals hogging my bed and sweating to death with the covers over my head. I did allow a small peep hole for air and to be on the look out for intruders.

One thing I do remember my parents doing is making my brothers get out of the car if they were being rude. I've tried this with Wyatt; sometimes it works but most of the time it backfires...yet i still keep hoping.

The other night he was being OCD about a bar of chocolate I wouldn't let him finish. We were driving and he would not stop talking about how mean I was and that I never let him do anything fun, ect... So I warned if he said one more word he was getting out of the car. So his one more word was, "word"..with a smart ass smile.
So I pulled over and said to get out of the car. He did and I drove off. Let me just say, it was in our neighborhood and not anywhere near a busy road. I had some of my friends kids in the car and they were in shock. One of the boys was like, "don't ever tell my parents you do this because they might do it to me." Hunter said, "mom, you know he doesn't even get scared when you do this anymore." I smiled and thought to myself, ' i know but I am running out of ideas.'

Couple of minutes later we pull up and Wyatt is running away. Now I can't get him in the car! Once he gets in, he informs me that someone in a gang drove by and said, "get in my car." This starts the whole discussion of the police and how I actually would get in trouble. I can never win!

savanna's favorite song and video. She loves to dance while we watch American Idol; I'm noticing where some of her moves are coming from.

Speaking of American Idol...I cant believe I let my kids stay up until almost 10:00 watching that show. I love hearing their commentary. Hunt and I tend to agree on Casey and Paul being the best; while Savanna judges purely on outfits and make up. Wyatt watches but is mainly bugging someone or eating.

I need to put that boy in a sleep induced coma for like a week. When he starts to get behind on sleep his energy is amped. Another aspect of him that totally perplexes me. Every night he gets out of bed at least 6 times to "tell" me something or ask to sleep in my bed. Last night he tells me, "mom every time I get in trouble by you I picture a bad guy coming closer to our house." Now he's scaring me! Seriously, I'm hoping his bazaar thoughts are because he is extremely imaginative and not like the boy on Sixth Sense.

my most favorite flower of all time. i wish i had a backyard full of them. or even a backyard at all.

i have two faux balconies. kinda funny to open the door to them and only be able to dangle your foot over the edge. aesthetically it makes the outside look really cute.

today was the first official day of the kids asking to go swimming. the temp. outside was 78, but i knew the pool would be much colder. there was no way we were starting swimming up yet. plus i would probably be mistaken for a ghost if i got this body in a swim suit.

ugh, that makes me think of going on vacation to some deserted island. or at least a fun hotel with a pool. which a few people i know get to do this weekend! i will have fun with all their kids though...a total of eleven. seriously, i don't plan on even being capable of caring for them all. i figure the boys will escape into the world of xbox, the girls will color and eat. wyatt and bella will just need to have an extra pair of eyes on them ;)
Congratulations to my amazing nephew who can karate chop like no ones business. Second degree black belt! Now that you've reached your goal you can quit.
